Translation
It was to subdue Bāṇāsura’s false pride that I severed his arms. And I slew his mighty army because it had become a burden upon the earth.
Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
It was to subdue Bāṇāsura's false pride that I severed his arms. And I slew his mighty army because it had become a burden upon the earth.
KB 10.63.48
“Therefore, without killing this Bāṇāsura, I have simply cut off his arms to deprive him of his false prestige. The large number of soldiers he was maintaining became a burden on this earth, and I have killed them all to minimize the burden.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
He was proud that you gave him a thousand arms. To take away that pride quickly I cut off those arms. I slaughtered his army (balam).
