Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

Once a cow belonging to a certain first-class brāhmaṇa wandered away and entered my herd. Unaware of this, I gave that cow in charity to a different brāhmaṇa. KB 10.64.16 The King continued: “In spite of all this, unfortunately one of the brāhmaṇas’ cows that I had given in charity chanced to enter amongst my other cows. Not knowing this, I again gave it in charity, to another brāhmaṇa.

Purport

Śrīla Śrīdhara Svāmī explains that the term dvija-mukhya, “first-class brāhmaṇa, ” here indicates a brāhmaṇa who has stopped accepting charity and would thus refuse to accept even one hundred thousand cows in exchange for the cow that had been improperly given away.

Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

"But what sin made you become a lizard?" This verse answers that question. "Straying from the brahaman, the cow mixed with my herd, not knowing that it belonged to that brahamana (avidusa), I gave the cow to another brahmana."

Purport (Jiva Goswami)

One cow of the brāhmaṇa wandered into my herd.
