Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

Pauṇḍraka was emboldened by the flattery of childish men, who told him, "You are Vāsudeva, the Supreme Lord and master of the universe, who have now descended to the earth." Thus he imagined himself to be the infallible Personality of Godhead. KB 10.66.2 Surrounded by many other foolish persons, this rascal Pauṇḍraka had actually concluded that he was Vāsudeva, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This kind of conclusion is certainly childish.

Purport

Pauṇḍraka foolishly accepted the flattery of ignorant persons.

Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

Being encouraged by ignorant people by their praise (prastobhitah), he considered himself the Supreme Lord.

Purport (Jiva Goswami)

His foolishness and sending the messenger are described in two verses. You are Vāsudeva since you pervade all beings, and you are Bhagavān, endowed with all powers. Thus you, the Lord of the universe, have not appeared on earth. He thought he was the Lord, full of all powers (acyutam).
