मन्त्रयन्तं च कस्मिंश्चिन्मन्त्रिभिश्चोद्धवादिभि: । जलक्रीडारतं क्व‍ापि वारमुख्याबलावृतम् ॥ २७ ॥

mantrayantaṁ ca kasmiṁścin mantribhiś coddhavādibhiḥ jala-krīḍā-rataṁ kvāpi vāramukhyābalāvṛtam

Synonyms

mantrayantam consulting ; ca and ; kasmiṁścit somewhere ; mantri bhiḥ — with advisers ; ca and ; uddhava ādibhiḥ — Uddhava and others ; jala watery ; krīḍā in sports ; ratam engaged ; kva api somewhere ; vāra mukhyā — by royal dancing girls ; abalā and other women ; vṛtam accompanied .

Translation

Somewhere He was consulting with royal ministers like Uddhava, and somewhere else He was enjoying in the water, surrounded by many society girls and other young women.

KB 10.69.27 In some of the palaces He was found consulting with ministers like Uddhava on important matters of business. In one palace He was found surrounded by many young society girls, enjoying in a swimming pool.

Purport

This translation is based on Śrīla Prabhupāda’s Kṛṣṇa. According to Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī, Lord Kṛṣṇa met with His counselors around dusk and enjoyed water sports in the afternoon.

He consulted with ministers like Uddhava and Vikadru. The word ca means Balarāma also (who was not a minister). It is also mentioned that Uddhava and others were also situated in all the palaces. In other places he was surrounded by queens (abalā) and the best courtesans.
