Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

The sages said: Please see to it, O Rāma, that Your power and that of Your kuśa weapon, as well as our promise and Romaharṣaṇa's death, all remain intact. KB 10.78.35 Not wanting to detract from the mission of the Lord in killing Romaharṣaṇa Sūta, all of them prayed, “Our dear Lord, the uncommon use of Your kuśa weapon to kill Romaharṣaṇa Sūta may remain as it is; because You desired to kill him, he should not be brought to life again. At the same time, Your Lordship may remember that we sages and brāhmaṇas voluntarily gave him long life; therefore, such a benediction should not be nullified.” Thus the request of all the learned brāhmaṇas in the assembly was ambiguous because they wanted to keep intact their benediction that Romaharṣaṇa Sūta would continue to live until the end of the great sacrifice, but at the same time they did not want to nullify Balarāma’s killing him.

Purport (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

You should arrange things in such a way that your weapon, strength and killing as well as our words remain true.

Purport (Jiva Goswami)

Arrange things so that your weapon and your prowess remain intact, since they belong to you. His death should remain, since it was arranged by you, the Lord. And the truth of our words, concerning the performance of a sacrifice, should remain intact, since it is related to you. By this you will perfect you position as the giver of pleasure to all beings (rāma).
