When Garga Muni had been properly received as a guest and was very comfortably seated, Nanda Mahārāja submitted with gentle and submissive words: Dear sir, because you are a devotee, you are full in everything. Yet my duty is to serve you. Kindly order me. What can I do for you?
Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
When Gargamuni had been properly received as a guest and was very comfortably seated, Nanda Mahārāja submitted with gentle and submissive words: Dear sir, because you are a devotee, you are full in everything. Yet my duty is to serve you. Kindly order me. What can I do for you?
KB 10.8.3
He offered him a nice sitting place, and when he sat down, Nanda Mahārāja offered him a warm reception.
Purport (Jiva Goswami)
He washed his feet and sat him down comfortably to relieve him of fatigue after his journey. He received him as a guest by offering madhuparka and other items. He spoke with sweet words of praise. Garga was silent (munim) in order to hear Nanda’s intentions. Nanda says that Garga has all perfections (pūrṇasya) because he had devotion to the Lord. This was because he was Brahman-- a person who had achieved greatness because of knowing the meaning of all the Vedas. The conclusion of the Vedas is devotion to the Lord. Bhagavān brahma kārtsnyena trir anvīkṣya: the unchanging Lord reviewed three times the Vedas completely. (SB 2.2.34) Vedaiś ca sarvair aham eva vedyaḥ: I am to be known by the Vedas. (BG 15.15)
Purport (Sanatana Goswami)
He washed his feet and sat him down comfortably to relieve him of fatigue after his journey. He received him as a guest by offering madhuparka and other items. He spoke with sweet words of praise. Garga was silent (munim) in order to hear Nanda’s intentions. Nanda says that Garga has all perfections (pūrṇasya) because he had devotion to the Lord. This was because he was Brahman—all the Vedas incarnate. In the verses of the Vedas concerning creation, one’s desires are said to be fulfilled by special bhakti to the Lord who is satisfied. The story is told in the Brhad-vāmana Purāṇa.
Or you are directly Brahman. You are directly the wealth of all things by being an expansion of the Lord.
