Translation
Taking the flat rice, the saintly brāhmaṇa set off for Dvārakā, all the while wondering “How will I be able to have Kṛṣṇa’s audience?”

Without waiting any longer, the brāhmaṇa took the presentation and proceeded toward Dvārakā to see his Lord. He was absorbed in the thought of how he would be able to see Lord Kṛṣṇa. He had no thought within his heart other than Kṛṣṇa.

He took the rice since there was nothing else. He departed so it is said (kila).

He took the rice since there was nothing else. He went with effort (pra), being unable to go property because of his thin body, since he was the devotee of the Lord, the best among brāhmaṇas (viprāgryaḥ). This is certain (kila). He did not give up going there because of his inability. Or kila is connected with the next statement to indicate doubt. Or he went definitely went while definitely thinking (kila), “Will I see the Lord, Kṛṣṇa, bhagavān, directly by some method (katham)?” He was always seeing the Lord in his heart but now it would be direct (sandarśanam), which is very rare.
