उन्नीय वक्त्रमुरुकुन्तलकुण्डलत्विड् गण्डस्थलं शिशिरहासकटाक्षमोक्षै: । राज्ञो निरीक्ष्य परित: शनकैर्मुरारे- रंसेऽनुरक्तहृदया निदधे स्वमालाम् ॥ २९ ॥

unnīya vaktram uru-kuntala-kuṇḍala-tviḍ- gaṇḍa-sthalaṁ śiśira-hāsa-kaṭākṣa-mokṣaiḥ rājṣo nirīkṣya paritaḥ śanakair murārer aṁse ’nurakta-hṛdayā nidadhe sva-mālām

Synonyms

unnīya — lifting ; vaktram — my face ; uru — abundant ; kuntala — with locks of hair ; kuṇḍala — of earrings ; tviṭ — and with the effulgence ; gaṇḍa — sthalam — whose cheeks ; śiśira — cooling ; hāsa — with a smile ; kaṭa — akṣa — of sidelong glances ; mokṣaiḥ — and with the casting ; rājṣaḥ — the kings ; nirīkṣya — looking at ; paritaḥ — all around ; śanakaiḥ — slowly ; murāreḥ — of Kṛṣṇa ; aṁse — upon the shoulder ; anurakta — attracted ; hṛdayā — whose heart ; nidadhe — I placed ; sva — my ; mālām — necklace .

Translation

I lifted my face, which was encircled by my abundant locks and effulgent from the glow of my earrings reflected from my cheeks. Smiling coolly, I glanced about. Then, looking around at all the kings, I slowly placed the necklace on the shoulder of Murāri, who had captured my heart.

I lifted my face, which was encircled by my abundant locks and effulgent from the glow of my earrings reflected from my cheeks. Smiling coolly, I glanced about. Then, looking around at all the kings, I slowly placed the necklace on the shoulder of Murāri, who had captured my heart. KB 10.83.29 “My curling hair encircled my face, which shone with a bright luster due to the reflection of my various earrings. My eyes blinking, I first observed all the princes present, and when I reached my Lord I very slowly placed the golden necklace on His neck. As I have already informed you, from the very beginning my mind was attracted by Lord Kṛṣṇa, and thus I considered the garlanding of the Lord my great victory.

Her locks fell over the edges of her cheeks since her locks were tied in a special way near her ears. I looked at the kings present with distain, and then looked at Kṛṣṇa with cooling, smiling glances. With attached heart, I placed a garland that I had made with my own hands (sva-mālām) for him on the shoulders of Murārī, killer of Mura, qualified as the greatest hero. The face had abundant locks around them and its cheeks shone with earrings. Or, the face had cheeks shining with earrings and abundant locks. Śiśira means cool or faint. Going (ayā) with attracted heart (hṛd) to Murāri, I placed the garland on his shoulder. This indicates their mutual love.

I lifted my face, with glances of cool smiles and looked the kings gathered there with distain. Slowly I placed the garland on the Lord, which she held in her hand to present to him (sva-mālām), because my heart was attracted to him. She was absorbed in the Lord out of intense prema. Kṛṣṇa was the killer of the powerful demon Mura. Thus the garland was suitable for him, since he was courageous. Her cheeks glowed from her two earrings and plentiful locks of hair. Her smile was soft (śiśira). Or she went (ayā) to Murārī whose heart was attracted to her (anurakta-hṛt). They had mutual prema.
