प्रतिबाहुरभूत्तस्मात् सुबाहुस्तस्य चात्मज: । सुबाहो: शान्तसेनोऽभूच्छतसेनस्तु तत्सुत: ॥ ३८ ॥

Verse text

pratibāhur abhūt tasmāt subāhus tasya cātmajaḥ subāhoḥ śāntaseno ’bhūc chatasenas tu tat-sutaḥ

Synonyms

prati — bāhuḥ — Pratibāhu ; abhūt — came ; tasmāt — from him (Vajra) ; subāhuḥ — Subāhu ; tasya — his ; ca — and ; ātma — jaḥ — son ; su — bāhoḥ — from Subāhu ; śānta — senaḥ — Śāntasena ; abhūt — came ; śata — senaḥ — Śatasena ; tu — and ; tat — his (Śāntasena’s) ; sutaḥ — son .

Translation

From Vajra came Pratibāhu, whose son was Subāhu. Subāhu’s son was Śāntasena, from whom Śatasena was born.

From Vajra came Pratibāhu, whose son was Subāhu. Subāhu's son was Śāntasena, from whom Śatasena was born. KB 10.90.38 Vajra had one son, whose name was Pratibāhu. The son of Pratibāhu was named Subāhu, the son of Subāhu was named Śāntasena, and the son of Śāntasena was Śatasena.

The sons of Bhadrasena are not mentioned since there is confusion of the dynasty as it began to disappear. Sometimes śrutasenaṣ tu is seen instead of Śatasena.

From Vajra (tataḥ) came Pratibāhu. The sons of Bhadrasena are not mentioned because that was almost the end of the dynasty.
