Lord Kṛṣṇa said: The material mind of men is shaped by the reactions of fruitive work. Along with the five senses, it travels from one material body to another. The spirit soul, although different from this mind, follows it.

Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

The Supreme Lord said: The material mind of man, dependent on karma, travels along with the five senses from one material body to another. The ātmā, although different from this mind, follows it. The mind along with the rest of the subtle body, dependent on karma, goes from body to body. The jīva, though different from the subtle body, follows the subtle body, since it is joined with it.
