Translation

My dear Mahārāja Parīkṣit, that great personality Śrīla Vyāsadeva taught me this same scripture, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, which is equal in stature to the four Vedas.

Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)

O King! The great Vyāsadeva taught me this same scripture, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, which is equal in stature to the four Vedas. The phrases purāna-saṁhitām etam, and imam bhāgavatīm saṁhitām are in two separate sentences and thus there is no fault of too much repetition.
