hotur vyatikramaṁ jṣātvā
babhāṣe ravi-nandanam

Translation
The most powerful great-grandfather Vasiṣṭha, after hearing these words of Manu, understood the discrepancy on the part of the priest. Thus he spoke as follows to the son of the sun-god.

Prapitāmahaḥ means Vasiṣṭha.
