Translation
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Because Bharadvāja was delivered by the Marut demigods, he was known as Vitatha. The son of Vitatha was Manyu, and from Manyu came five sons — Bṛhatkṣatra, Jaya, Mahāvīrya, Nara and Garga. Of these five, the one known as Nara had a son named Saṅkṛti.
Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: The son of Vitatha (Bharadvaja) was Manyu, and from Manyu came five sons—Bṛhatkṣatra, Jaya, Mahāvīrya, Nara and Garga. Nara had a son named Saṅkṛti.
The Twenty-first Chapter relates the story of Rantideva of the Puru dynasty, who pleased Brahmā, Viṣṇu and Śiva by his generosity and patience. Vitatha (false) refers to Bharadvaja, who though a brāhmaṇa by birth, became Bharata’s adopted son. Bharadvaja’s son was Manyu.
