प्रशान्तमनसं ह्येनं योगिनं सुखमुत्तमम् । उपैति शान्तरजसं ब्रह्मभूतमकल्मषम् ॥ २७ ॥

Verse text

praśānta-manasaṁ hy enaṁ yoginaṁ sukham uttamam upaiti śānta-rajasaṁ brahma-bhūtam akalmaṣam

Synonyms

praśānta peaceful, fixed on the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa ; manasam whose mind ; hi certainly ; enam this ; yoginam yogī ; sukham happiness ; uttamam the highest ; upaiti attains ; śānta-rajasam his passion pacified ; brahma-bhūtam liberation by identification with the Absolute ; akalmaṣam freed from all past sinful reactions.

Translation

The yogī whose mind is fixed on Me verily attains the highest perfection of transcendental happiness. He is beyond the mode of passion, he realizes his qualitative identity with the Supreme, and thus he is freed from all reactions to past deeds.

27. Supreme bliss comes to that yogī who has pacified mind, is devoid of passion, free of sin, and thus on the level of realization of Brahman.

27. Supreme bliss comes to that yogī with mind fixed on the soul, becomes devoid of passion, free of desires, and then directly experiencing ātmā.

Purport

Brahma-bhūta is the state of being free from material contamination and situated in the transcendental service of the Lord. Mad-bhaktiṁ labhate parām ( Bg. 18.54 ). One cannot remain in the quality of Brahman, the Absolute, until one’s mind is fixed on the lotus feet of the Lord. Sa vai manaḥ kṛṣṇa-padāravindayoḥ. To be always engaged in the transcendental loving service of the Lord, or to remain in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, is to be factually liberated from the mode of passion and all material contamination.

Then, as previously, the yogī again will enjoy the happiness of samādhi. Sukham is the subject of the sentence.

Endeavoring in this way, the yogī will again experience the bliss of samādhi. The greatest happiness of realizing ātmā (sukham uttamam) (subject of the sentence) spontaneously comes to the yogī whose mind is fixed on ātmā (praśānta manasam), whose ancient, subtle sinful inclinations are consequently destroyed (akalmaṣam), and therefore is free of passion (śānta rajas am), and who directly experiences the ātmā which appears with eight distinct qualities (brahma bhūtam). [Note: The soul is sinless, ageless, deathless, without grief, without hunger, without thirst, blissful, and fulfills his promises.]

Now, on the higher stages, [ 10 . Perfection in Yoga: He sees Krsna everywhere, Krsna is never lost to him nor is he ever lost to Krsna. Such a yogi, knowing that the Supersoul and Krsna are one, sees the true equality of all beings and thus acts for the welfare of all.(28‑ 32) ]
