balaṁ vinātha gopālais
cārayan gā hariḥ svayam
kālindī-kūlam āgatya
yayau vāri-viṣāvṛtam

Translation
Śrī Nārada said: One day, as in Balarāma's absence He was herding the cows with the gopas as His company, Kṛṣṇa came to the shore of the Yamunā, which at that time was filled with poisoned water.
