Translation
You, Dāruka, should be firmly situated in devotion to Me, remaining fixed in spiritual knowledge and unattached to material considerations. Understanding these pastimes to be a display of My illusory potency, you should remain peaceful.
Translation (Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura)
You, Dāruka, should be firmly situated in devotion to me, fixed in spiritual knowledge and unattached to material considerations. Understanding these pastimes to be a display of my illusory potency, you should remain peaceful.
“What is the nature of this arrangement of disappearing, since you have a form which is eternity, knowledge and bliss? Be merciful and explain that to me.” This deceptive pastime was created by my māyā.
Purport
According to Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī, the word
tu
here emphasizes that Dāruka is an eternally liberated associate of Lord Kṛṣṇa, having descended from Vaikuṇṭha. Therefore, even though others might be bewildered by the Lord’s pastimes, Dāruka should remain peaceful and fixed in spiritual knowledge.
